Included in this data release are 2-d distributions of the X-ray plasma surface density and weak lensing kappa values, and catalogs giving the reduced shear measurements for background galaxies and magnitudes for color-selected likely cluster galaxies. 1e0657_central_gasmass_mod.fits contains the surface density of the X-ray plasma in units of 10^15 solar masses per pixel area. So adding up the values within a given area gives the total surface mass within that area. 1e0657.release1.kappa.fits contains the kappa map from the weak lensing analysis described in Clowe et al 2006, ApJL, 648, L109. Multiply the kappa values by 7e11 to get the surface density in solar masses per pixel area in an Omega_m = 0.3, Lambda = 0.7, H_0 = 70 km/s/Mpc cosmology. Note that this reconstruction has a smoothing term applied to it, which was a Gaussian with sigma ~35 kpc around the bullet, ~45 kpc around the main cluster, and increasing significantly outside of the ACS imaging area. The scaling of the reduced shear to a mean z=1 background galaxy is also mathematically incorrect, and likely reduces the values of kappa, and therefore surface density, in the cores of the clusters by a few percent. As with all weak lensing kappa reconstructions, we had to break the mass sheet degeneracy by assuming a value for kappa at a given radius around the cluster - we used kappa = 0 at r = 4 Mpc. This also likely causes us to underestimate the true kappa by ~0.008 at the edges but less in the middle (kappa_true = 0.992*kappa_obs + 0.008). 1e0657.release1.shear.dat is an ascii file which has the background galaxy reduced shear measurements used to measure kappa. The columns are: ra in hours, dec in degrees, reduced shear g (2 columns), relative weight of galaxy used in kappa reconstructions (not normalized to 1), sigma_crit^-1 in kpc^2/M_solar, size estimate in pixels (1 pixel = 0.111" = 0.49 kpc), mean redshift estimate for the galaxy, and a 5 number mask file that indicates which images the galaxy was detected in (WFI, magellan, vlt, ACS centered on bullet, ACS centered on main cluster). The sigma_crit^-1 and redshift for each galaxy were measured from bins of magnitude from the Fontana et al HDF-S photometric redshift catalog. 1e0657.clustergal.dat is an ascii file which has the color-selected likely cluster galaxies used in the luminosity measurements of Clowe et al 2006. The columns are: ra in hours, dec in degrees, SExtractor auto-magnitudes in R, V, and B measured from the magellan IMACS images, SExtractor errors in the 3 magnitudes (almost certainly underestimates of the true error), the fwhm of the object in pixels, and an ellipticity measurement (uncorrected for PSF smearing).
